It was a summer filled with new skills, new friendships, and plenty to celebrate for Castle Rock's Special Olympics athletes!

Taking a Swing at Golf

Nine athletes participated in weekly golf practices, building their skills and confidence on the course.

Four advanced to Regional competition, earning first, second and third-place finishes, and three athletes continued on to State. At State, Castle Rock's Unified Alternate Shot teams had an incredible showing, with Paylin and Tawyna, Walker and Anthony, and Joey and Sam all earning second place!

A First for Castle Rock: Bocce!

This summer also marked an exciting milestone with Castle Rock's first Special Olympics bocce program! Eight athletes and a Unified partner came together for weekly practices before heading to competition.

The team made its first season one to remember, bringing home three first place finishes at Regionals, along with third and fourth place honors. Max went on to State and earned an impressive second place finish in singles!

While the medals are worth celebrating, the best part of the summer was seeing athletes try something new, cheer for one another, and experience those unforgettable "I did it!" moments.
